The legal basis for privacy protection is found in the German Federal Privacy Act (BDSG) and the Telemedia Act (TMG).

 

Personal Data

Personal data are information about your identity. These includes data such as your name, address, telephone number, and email address. You are not required to reveal your personal data in order to use our web page. However, in certain cases we require your name and address as well as additional data so that we can provide the desired services.

The same applies to mailing information material and merchandise you have ordered or to answering certain specific questions. We will inform your accordingly wherever this is necessary. Aside from this, we store and process only those data that you make available to us voluntarily or automatically.

 

Access Data/Server Log Files

The provider (or, respectively, the web space provider) collects data about every access to the offering (so-called server log files). The access data include:

Name of the requested web site, file, date and time of the request, amount of data transferred, message about successful request, browser type including version, user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address, and the querying provider.

The provider uses the protocol data only for statistical evaluation for the purpose of operating, securing, and optimizing the offering. The provider reserves the right to subsequently check the protocol data if there are specific indications that justify the suspicion of illegal use.

 

Use for a Specific Purpose

Personal data are collected and disclosed to authorized government institutions and public authorities only within the scope of the relevant statutes and/or insofar as we are required to do so by a court order. Our employees and the service companies we commission are obligated by us to maintain secrecy and to observe the provisions of the German Federal Privacy Act.

 

Contact and Contact Form

When contacting the provider (for example via the contact form or email), the user's data are stored for the purpose of processing the query and in case subsequent questions arise.

 

Registration (Form)

The data you provide during registration are used to set up your access to our detailed product information. This access is set up only for physicians or trained medical specialists. The collected data are visible in the entry form during registration.

 

Integration of Third Party Services and Content

It may be that third party content such as videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps, RSS feeds, or graphics from other web sites is integrated into this online offering. This always requires that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third party providers") see the user's IP address. Because without the IP address they would be unable to send the content to the respective user's browser. The IP address is thus required to display this content. We make an effort to utilize only such content whose respective providers use the IP address solely for making the content available. However, we have no influence on whether the third party providers store the IP address for statistical purposes. Insofar as we are aware of this, we inform the users of it.

 

Cookies

Cookies are small files that allow us to store on the user's access device (PC, smart phone, etc.) specific information related to that device. On the one hand, they help to improve user friendliness of web sites and thus help the users (for example by storing login data). On the other hand, they also help to collect statistical data on web site use to allow them to be analyzed for the purpose of improving the web site. Users can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers provide an option for limiting or completely preventing the storage of cookies. However, note that without cookies the use of the web site and particularly the convenience of using it are limited.

Our web site uses the Google Maps API to visually display geographic information. When using Google Maps, Google (Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California, 94043) also collects, processes, and uses data about the use of the Maps functions by visitors to the web site. Piwik

This offering uses Piwik, open source software for the statistical evaluation of user accesses. Piwik uses cookies, text files that are stored on the user's computer and allow analysis of the use of the web site by the user. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this offering is stored on the provider's server in Germany. The IP address is anonymized immediately after processing and prior to being stored. Users can prevent the installation of cookies by selecting an appropriate browser setting; however, the provider informs the users that in this case not all functions of this web site will be fully available.
