As a family-run company with a success story spanning more than 40 years, we are well aware of the importance of sustainable solutions. Entrepreneurial responsibility and long-term thinking are an integral part of our corporate strategy and deeply rooted in our tradition. Ecologically, socially and economically responsible corporate managment is a matter of course for us.

Therefore we always strive to optimise our corporate activities in terms of sustainability. Since 2014, we have been collecting and evaluating all relevant data which refer to our sustainability goals. We are committed to continuously reviewing our procedures in each area. For us, sustainability focuses on environmental, health and social goals. We act sustainably in order to improve quality of life and promote better healthcare with our products.

With our sustainability strategy we are proving that corporate management, economic performance and sustainability go hand in hand. Working closely with suppliers, customers and cooperation partners, we make a measurable contribution to shaping a sustainable future for the coming generation.

• We prepared our first sustainability report in 2015.
• In 2020, we switched to international standards for our evaluations.
• We currently use the “Ecocockpit” tool from the Efficiency Agency NRW to calculate our CO2 emissions. The carbon footprint covers three areas of emissions in accordance with the Corporate Carbon Footprint (Scope 1 to 3).
• Since 2021, we have been calculating our carbon footprint.

We aim to be completely climate neutral by 2035 for emissions from sources directly attributable to the company (Scope 1). And we are gradually implementing the following additional measures, in addition to those we have already successfully implemented:

• CO2 compensation as an offer to our customers (e.g. for climate neutral deliveries).
• Expansion of the photovoltaic system by a further 200 kW/p.
• Replacement of oil heating systems with heat pumps or local heating supply with the aim of avoiding the use of heating oil as an energy source and CO2 emissions.
• Reduce CO2 emissions from commuter traffic of employees by acquiring more e-vehicles for the vehicle fleet (incl. charging stations) and expanding bicycle leasing.
• Procurement of energy-efficient production machines.
• Use of new production technologies that enable material-saving manufacturing.
• Presence detectors for all workplaces that are not in permanent use with the aim of reducing power consumption.
• Packaging made from recycled material.

Our economically responsible corporate management is reflected both in our company philosophy and in our sustainability measures. We align our initiatives with the SDGs, thereby staying informed about new challenges and enabling us to quickly integrate new perspectives into our business and ensure continuous, successful development. Our economic decisions are geared towards long-term stability, innovation and responsible growth.

We act sustainably and ecologically, because protecting the environment means protecting the future. We always keep an eye on our carbon footprint and create climate-friendly structures. Our ecological projects, which are close to our hearts, constantly give us new impetus to act sustainably for the future of us all. It is important to us to use natural resources sparingly, to continuously reduce emissions and to design all processes in such a way that the environment remains intact in the long term.

We serve the well-being of people. Our employees are our greatest asset. We are aware of our social responsibility – these are the first three guiding principles of our company philosophy, which has been firmly anchored in the company since its foundation and is lived out every day. In addition to comprehensive and systematic occupational health and safety, we invest heavily in our company health management (BGM) programme.
