Defect-adapted reconstruction

Step by step

The special feature of the modular MRS Titan Comfort is its step-by-step, individual adaptability to the respective acetabular bone defect with existing pelvic continuity and without the use of bone cement.

The wide range of cementless combination options between the revision cup and the augmentation component, as well as the cementless positioning of the cup within the revision cup, offers a broad selection of options for customised joint replacement and optimal patient care.

Clinically proven

Retrospective studies (1,3,4,7,8) and clinical experience (2,5,6,9,10,11,12) demonstrate the effectiveness of the MRS-TITAN® Comfort modular revision cup.

Implant selection within the system
for the best possible results

For optimal reconstruction, we recommend selecting components from within our range of prosthesis systems. The products are perfectly coordinated with one another.

In combination with the MRP-TITAN modular revision prosthesis, the MRS-TITAN Comfort offers patient-specific solutions for a wide variety of anatomical requirements and challenging defect situations.

Material

  • Proven biocompatible titanium alloy Ti6Al4V, as well as pure titanium grades 1 and 4
  • XL-PE+VitE inserts

Design & Function

  • Cementless implant anchorage, augmentation fixation and insert fixation within the shell
→ Long-term disadvantages associated with cemented polyethylene inserts (UHMW PE) in a metal support ring are avoided.
→ Uniform modulus of elasticity between the implant and the augmentation
  • Anatomical design
  • 6 freely adjustable positions for inclination and anteversion
→ Intra- and postoperative correction options
  • Metal augments in various designs to bridge bone defects
  • Individually bendable caudal hook, which is fixed in the foramen obturatorium
→ Optimal reconstruction of the centre of rotation
  • Anatomical shaping of the pre-bent tabs
  • Increased component safety against fatigue fractures

Sizes & Variants

  • Without tabs
  • With 45 mm tabs
  • With 60 mm tabs
  • Sizes 48–64 mm in 4 mm increments
  • Can be combined with cementless cranial, dorsal and dorso-cranial grafts in various sizes

Advantages

  • Consistent avoidance of CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic, toxic to reproduction) subject to labelling requirements
  • No use of bone cement to fix the augment/cup in the revision shell
→ no risk of allergy to bone cement components
→ no risk of hydrolytic debonding
  • Patient-specific solutions through combination with the MRP-TITAN
  • Intraoperative flexibility through appropriate implant selection
  • The patented mechanism offers maximum flexibility in adjusting inclination and anteversion.
→ Systematic, flexible solution to individual physiological problems
→ Restoration of physiological joint geometry
  • Trial positioning possible
  • Biomechanically correct positioning
  • No transmission of torsional forces to the firmly anchored cup due to the movable polyethylene insert
  • Preservation of bone grafts through the mechanically secure connection in the flanges
    → reduced loosening
→ vibration-free stress transfer to the acetabulum
  • Stable bridging of bone defects in ‘relative rest’ (bone remodelling)
  • High primary stability due to good bone contact
  • Good anchorage even in osteoporotic bone via flange screws
  • Clinically proven (1–12)
